TOE_TOE_LY V2 (Totally) gives you feet life!
V2 completely overhauls V1 and merges features down to just 1 toggle! With just 1 parameter bit, it adds micro-motion and immersive foot movements that hooks into your gesture, trigger, and feet movements. Adds tiptoes, curls, flexes, poses, little motions to give them life.

SETUP
This package assumes you have basic Blender knowledge to remove and replace a subset of your body armature and data transfer the vertex weights. The goal is to replace your foot rig, transfer the weights from the provided foot to your model. This package only supports the default body (unmodified foot). I've provided the setup instruction here so you can better understand what's needed before purchasing.
BLENDER SETUP
- Backup your blender project
- Confirm and zero all shapekeys
- Remove all armature in foot (remove foot, toe, and individual toes)
- Import foot rig to project
- Join foot rig armature with avatar armature (ctrl-J)
- Parent new Foot_R and Foot_L to Knee_L and Knee_R
Modifiers > Data transfer
Source: Provided foot mesh
Check Vertex Data and expand the menu
Select Vertex Groups and set Mapping to Nearest Vertex
Expand Topology Mapping
Check Max Distance and set value to 0.0001m
Click Generate Data Layers
Click the down arrow symbol and Apply the modifier
Pose and test the new foot rig
Quickly test the foot weights by dragging them around with G and rotate with R
Confirm and pose Toe_L.001 & Toe_R.001 bends the foot up and down
Confirm and pose individual toes
Selected all bones with a in pose mode.
Reset the pose by clearing transforms:
Pose > Clear Transform > All
- Remove unused provided foot mesh. You won't need them anymore
- Export your updated FBX to unity
UNITY SETUP
Preflight Checks
Armature should be unmodified (ex. blender setup)
Bone names should be unmodified (ex. blender setup)
Avatar should have a FX controller in their playable layer (Required for MA to work)
Import your .fbx
Debug: Reset pose if toes look broken or finger contacts looks to be off alignment
Configure Avatar
Mapping
Toes should be Toe_R and Toe_L (not Toe_R.001 & Toe_L.001)
Set up avatar as usual
I am using Pumpkin's avatar tool for this for this demo
Import TOE_TOE_LY_V2.unitypackage
Locate and add TOE_TOE_LY_V2.prefab to your avatar root.
Drill down in TOE_TOE_LY_V2 and set root transform for physbones
PhysBones > ... > Toe_L to use root transform Toe_L.001
PhysBones > ... > Toe_R to use root transform Toe_R.001
UPGRADE FROM V1
- Safe: Select your avatar in hierarchy view and press CTRL-D to duplicate
- Safe: Disable your original avatar in the inspector
- Safe: Select the duplicated avatar to begin upgrade
- Delete TOE_TOE_LY from your avatar
- Drag-and-drop TOE_TOE_LY_2.0 into your avatar
Drill down in TOE_TOE_LY_2.0 and set root transform for physbones
PhysBones > Toe_L to use root transform Toe_L.001 from the base Avatar armature
PhysBones > Toe_R to use root transform Toe_R.001 from the base Avatar armature
