Japanese Bonsai - Large Shimpaku Juniper Twin Trunk with Shari (Hiyoku) | VRChat World Prop

A Japanese-style bonsai 3D prop for VRChat worlds and homes.

This one is a shimpaku juniper trained as a twin-trunk (sokan) tree - two trunks curve

in an S-shape and lean in toward each other as they rise from the pot. A pale band of

shari, weathered deadwood, runs the length of both trunks, set off against the

reddish-brown living bark alongside it. We named this piece "Hiyoku", an old word for a

pair of birds that fly wing to wing - it pairs with our black pine twin-trunk piece

"Renri" in our range; together the two names complete the old phrase "hiyoku-renri",

used for a bond too close to part.

1. Import the unitypackage into a Unity project with the VRChat SDK (Worlds) installed

2. Drag the prefab into your scene

3. Switch the shader to liltoon or similar if you prefer

Our showroom world "Bonsai Engawa | Wabisabi Bonsaido" displays the bonsai on real

shelves - and the large pieces stand on their own stands in the bonsai garden.

The base 3D mesh and its base-colour texture were generated with Meshy, an

image-to-3D AI tool, from a photograph of a bonsai that we prepared ourselves; no

third-party artwork or scanned model was used as input.

What was done by hand, without AI:

Reconnecting four detached mesh fragments to the trunks, texture optimisation for

real-time use, material setup, scaling to real-world size, prefab construction,

multi-angle quality inspection, product photography and packaging.

The model was generated under a paid Meshy plan, which grants full commercial rights to

the output.
