V-Roo - Kangaroo with a Pouch
Product Description
Interested in adding some spring to your step? Tuck a video player or a small avali away in your pouch and you're ready to go!
With an emphasis on implementing the most iconic marsupial features, the V-Roo base is an over-engineered kangaroo avatar, built from the ground up for VRChat.
The V-Roo takes advantage of everything we've learned. Custom Locomotions, Drag and Drop Pouch Inventory System, Robust Full Body IK Controls, and much more!
V-Roo : Pocket Included!
(Or not, it's toggleable)
8 Custom Poses and Actions | 4 Hairstyles | 10+ Fur Options | 70 Customizable Blendshapes | Full Body Tracking | UE Face Tracking | Multiple Custom Locomotion Systems | 3 Part Jump Animation | 150+ Menu Options
We wanted to try our hand at some unique avatar designs and kangaroo legs were a perfect fit! Special attention has been put into making the legs of the V-Roo follow the VRChat humanoid, but still maintain the kangaroo charm. Stretch that leggy out real far and give it a try yourself!
But you can't be a marsupial without a pouch! As such, we had to tackle a full inventory system. You can pull things out of your pouch, attach them to your head, attach them to your chest, drop them into the world, give them gravity, but watch out! someone might take off with it! The V-Roo comes with a tablet that can display the world video, but you can put anything you want into the inventory system, even your friends!
Features:
- Custom Locomotion - In addition to full compatibility with GoGoLoco animations and poses, this avatar features two custom locomotion systems, the traditional Kangaroo Hop / Crawl or a Rollout Style. You can also choose to have the rollout end with a splat.

Digitgrade? Plantigrade? Both! - This base is a hybrid of digitigrade and plantigrade. By default the avatar is plantigrade, but when colliding with the floor, lifting your feet, or stretching, it will blend into digitigrade for full body motion.
Inventory System - The V-Roo includes a completely modular inventory system. You can pull any object out of your pouch, attach it to your head, attach it to your chest, or drop it into the world! Your friends can even take off with it. We've included a tablet that will play the video from the world or a custom slideshow, but you can put anything you want in there, even your friends!
Pouch Passengers - Help your friend find the perfect spot with many different types of adjustment. The pouch will automatically stretch to fit and even plays a custom animation on the passenger to keep their legs from clipping through the bottom!
8 Poses with Special Actions - Lay, Lay on Belly, Relax, Lay on Back, Kneel, Sit, Sploot, and Sleep! Every pose has a special action that you can play.
4 Hairstyles - Mix and match the bangs for up to 16 combinations!
10+ Fur Options - Lots of little fluff! Each piece includes blendshapes to match the body and some also include their own physbones.
Face Tracking - This avatar includes a full set of Unified Expressions. We even took it one step further and automatically animated the Ears and Tail based on your movements!
Custom Jump Animations - This three part jump animation will move to the next part each time you jump.
MMD Compatibility - In addition to the full set of MMD shapes, we've also configured the legs and expressions to behave while dancing.
- Muscles - Literally flex on your friends with the ability to tense your muscles when you move.
- 3rd Person Desktop Camera - Soon we won't need this one, but for now enjoy this avatar based 3rd person camera for desktop users!
- Customize your Look - Get the perfect look with over 70 Customizable Blendshapes and even sliders for things like Hand Size, Head Size, and Eye Width.
- Idles and Gestures - Ear Flicks, Tail Movements, Subtle Expression Shifts, Close your fists to control the eyes or tongue.
- Fully Customizable Gesture System - Maybe you want the smile to be a peace sign instead of a finger point? This avatar includes a completely modular gesture system that allows you to choose which hand or gesture activates any of the expressions. Or if you don't like a specific gesture, rather than turning all of them off, just turn off that specific one.
- Puppets - Just like on most avatars, feel free to puppet the Tail, Ears, Tongue, Toes, or Face Expressions.
- Boop and Head Pat - Boop for a squeaker sound, eyes close when poked, ears wiggle when touched, and a head pat might put you to sleep.
- 1st Person Snoot - For a more immersive experience, you can choose to see your own muzzle at the bottom of your screen. It's fully adjustable for the perfect fit.
- Fully Modular Setup with VRCFury - Just drag and drop features you want into the avatar to enable or disable features, systems, or accessories. Everything will automatically connect with VRCFury.
- Quest Compatible - Ready to go right out of the box! Although the Quest Version doesn't have IK driven legs, it still moves great in game. This avatar can reach Medium Rank on Quest!

V-Roo Roscoe Public Demo
Ranking MEDIUM on both PC and Quest, Roscoe is the more optimized version of the V-Roo and has limited features.

Wanda ranks as POOR on both PC and Quest and includes most of the features available on the V-Roo. However, for performance rank reasons, some features are still omitted!
Below is a list of features that are available in the project, but not in either of the Demo Avatars.

- Whiskers - Whiskers above your eyebrows or around your nose.
- Fluff - Belly, Tail, and around the edges of the Ears.

What all is going on in there?
This is a quick technical explanation for those that are curious.
Kangaroo legs are essentially plantigrade when standing, but digitigrade when moving. So I decided to implement both systems and slide between them based on what is happening. When leaning back, if your leg is relaxed, we default the system to plantigrade. If you pull your foot close to your body, we blend into digitigrade for better leg folding, but still let you control the orientation of the toes. On the other side, if your leg is fully stretched out, we also blend into digitgrade, but have the leg follow a copy of your leg that is scaled larger. This way you can still fully stretch out your legs.
This works great until the legs touch the ground. Specifically in plantigrade mode, it's easy to clip your toes through the floor by pointing your toes towards the ground. So I added a physbone on your heel that collides with the floor. The more it collides, the more we blend into digitigrade control.
Alright! That solves the leggy problem... but what about the pouch? Glad you asked! The full featured solution involves 6 physbones, and can be scaled down to 0 if needed (you're welcome Questies!). The "Touch" physbone is used to push the pouch open when your hand slips inside. The "Belly" physbone is used to squish the bottom of the pouch in when touched. The 3 "Grab" physbones are used to not only pull the pouch open, but also stretch it. By default, only 1 of these physbones is turned on. When it is grabbed, you can pull open the pouch like you would expect, but that's when turn on the other 2 physbones! So if you also grab the other one, we then allow two parts of the pouch to follow your hand movements. The last physbone is used to calculate the angle between the two grab physbones. If you cross your hands while tugging on the pouch, we swap the ownership of two grab physbones to prevent them from twisting.
All of this to give you the best marsupial experience possible.
