This is a texture replacement/patch that uses noise/dithering filters and inpainting (by hand) to reduce the harsh color banding and blocky artifacts that occur on Sunny Head's darker default skin tones due to the limitations of 8-bit color space when using gradients.

When viewed extremely closely, some areas may appear slightly grainy, giving the appearance of pores or powdered makeup. However, at normal VRChat viewing distances, the textures appear smooth and uniform.

There is still some very slight banding along the jawline and hairline, but these should not be noticeable in-game, especially when using a hair cap texture.

All original textures were created by Sivka (23mink), then edited by me in the GNU Image Manipulation Program, which is free and open-source. I have received explicit permission from Sivka to modify and redistribute these textures.

How to Use these Textures:

➤‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ Simply use them however you would use the default Sunny Head's .PNGs!

‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ↪ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ For best results in Unity, I recommend a "Max Size" of either 2048 or 4096, and "Compression" of either "Normal Quality" or "High Quality". Of course, the higher the resolution/compression quality, the better the texture will look, but the more resource-demanding it will be.

*Note: BaseColor6 and BaseColor5 are the only skin tones included in this patch; BaseColors 1-4 do not display the color banding issues at a level that is perceptible in-game.
