★ Setup Guide

1. Project Preparation

1. Install the VRChat Creator Companion (VCC). Click "Create New Project," select the "Avatar" template, and create a new project. (Skip this step if you already have an active project).
2. Open the project settings by clicking "Manage Project" in VCC. Use the package search bar to locate and install VRChat SDK, lilToon, and Modular Avatar.
3. If any package cannot be found via search, look up its individual official page to find the latest installation instructions and follow them carefully.
4. Launch the Unity project once all packages are fully installed.

2. Package Import & Scene Setup

1. Drag and drop the downloaded .unitypackage file directly into the Unity Project window.
2. Ensure every single file is checked in the Unity Import window, then click "Import." Verify that the new asset folder has been created.
3. Open the folder labeled AvatarPrefab. Select your preferred version from the available Prefab files, and drag and drop it directly into your Hierarchy or Scene view.

3. Uploading to VRChat

1. In the top toolbar menu of Unity, navigate to VRChat SDK > Show Control Panel to open the upload interface.
2. If you are not signed in, enter your VRChat account credentials (ID/username and password) to authenticate.
3. Under the Selected Avatar section, make sure the name matches the avatar Prefab you placed in the Scene.
4. In the Name field, input your preferred name for the avatar.
5. Set the Visibility setting strictly to Private. (Uploading this avatar as "Public" violates the terms of service and constitutes an illegal redistribution).
6. Optional settings: You do not need to fill out Primary Style, Secondary Style, Content Warnings, Tags, or Description to complete the upload.
7. Configure a thumbnail image using either Select Image or Capture In Scene.
8. Check the Review Any Alerts section. If there are any red warning flags labeled Auto Fix, click the button to resolve them automatically.
9. Under the Build section, ensure the Build Type is set to Build & Publish Your Avatar Online.
10. For the Platform setting, select Windows if you are publishing for PC. Check all required options if you are publishing for the Mobile (Quest/Android) platform.
11. Double-check all inputs to ensure accuracy, then click the Build & Publish button at the bottom. The upload process will take several minutes.
12. Once finished, a confirmation message will display in green text. You can then launch VRChat and select your avatar from the "Uploaded Avatars" section in your in-game menu.

★ Troubleshooting

If you encounter any issues during setup or use, please check the following troubleshooting steps:

• Verify that you are using Unity version 2022.3.22f1. Ensure your project version matches this exactly.
• If the avatar or its clothing appears entirely bright pink in the scene, it means the shader is missing. Please download and install the lilToon shader.
• Make sure the latest VRChat SDK is properly imported before attempting an upload.
• Outdated versions of the VRChat SDK or Modular Avatar can cause script compilation errors. Please update both packages via the VCC.
• Do not change the names or hierarchical structure of the objects inside the default Prefab, as doing so may break the avatar's expressions or menu functionalities.
• If the avatar breaks after you modify it, there may be a conflict with another third-party asset. Try testing the avatar in isolation to see if the issue persists.
• If Unity throws unresolvable errors despite everything being correctly configured, try creating a completely clean Unity project or reinstalling the Unity Editor entirely.
• If you cannot convert clothing items via "Mochi Fitter," ensure that your software version is completely up to date.

● Why the System Starts from Version 3.0

The official VRChat version of this avatar begins its numbering system at V3.0. However, the true origin of Monochi traces back to V1.0, which was built inside VRoid Studio. VRoid Studio is a free application that allows creators to easily construct human-shaped avatars, and the earliest version of Monochi was built using this tool. The original V1.0 model base (provided in .VRM format) remains available as a free download on BOOTH.

This current V3.0 avatar underwent numerous private refinement iterations throughout the unreleased V2.0 generation. Through extensive adjustments, overhauls, and complete asset rebuilds, nearly every single element has been completely recreated from the ground up. Consequently, V3.0 Monochi does not maintain backwards compatibility with V1.0 Monochi (though minor design cues remain as an homage to her origins).
