★ Description


Animals are just so cute! Animal ears, wagging tails... All that fluffy, twitching goodness—I can't get enough! I know! I’ll just become one myself!

"AnimalParts" is a set of animal ear and tail accessories designed for VRChat. The parts sway with your movement and are fully interactive, allowing them to be touched or grabbed. They are also compatible with Modular Avatar for a quick and easy setup.

The Standard Edition includes base sets of ears and tails for five different animals: Cat, Dog, Rabbit, Mouse, and Fox. With a total of 37 BlendShapes, you can also fine-tune the forms to create your own unique shapes.

The package comes with 12 pre-set materials for instant coloring. You can also customize the materials to your heart’s content, allowing for endless variations to match any avatar.

  • Unity: (Confirmed working with 2022.3.22f1)
  • VRChat Creator Companion (VCC)
  • VRChat SDK: (Confirmed working with 3.10.1)
  • Modular Avatar: (Confirmed working with 1.15.1)
  • lilToon: (Confirmed working with 2.3.2)
  • Gesture Manager: (Confirmed working with 3.9.7)

Note: Using different versions may cause unexpected errors.

★ Supported Avatars

Compatible with most avatars, but manual position adjustment is required. The following list includes avatars for which pre-adjusted data is already included.

If you use these avatars, we recommend using the dedicated sets found in the "AvatarSetup" folder.

★ Installation Steps

【Project Preparation】

  1. Install VRChat Creator Companion (VCC). Click "Create New Project" and select "Avatar." (Skip if you already have a project).
  2. In VCC, click "Manage Project." Search for and install "VRChat SDK" and "lilToon."
  3. Launch the project.


【Importing Data】

  1. Import your avatar data into the Unity project.
  2. Drag and drop the ".unitypackage" file downloaded from the shop.
  3. Ensure all items are checked in the import window and click "Import."
  4. Open the "AvatarSetup" folder. Inside, you will find folders for specific avatars. Choose the prefab that matches your avatar and add it to your Scene.


【Attaching via Modular Avatar (MA)】

  1. Place your avatar prefab into the Hierarchy.
  2. Drag and drop the prefab (starting with "AP-") directly onto your avatar's root GameObject.
    • Note: Inside the prefab, "MA_Ear" is set up for the ears and "MA_Tail" is for the tail.
  3. To adjust the position:
    • Select and move "Ear_R" and "Ear_L" for the ears.
    • Select and move "Tail_Pos" for the tail.


【Customizing Appearance】

  1. Select the part you wish to change and adjust the parameters in the Material section of the Inspector.
  2. Individual Colors: A single material is used for both ears and the tail by default. To color them separately, apply different materials to the Right Ear, Left Ear, and Tail meshes.
  3. Changing Shapes: Select the objects named "Ear_R_Mesh," "Ear_L_Mesh," or "Tail_Mesh" and adjust the BlendShape values in the Inspector.
  4. Base Curves: To adjust the default curvature, expand the "Ear_R_Bone," "Ear_L_Bone," or "Tail_Bone" hierarchies and manually move or rotate the individual bones.


【Changing Colors】

  1. To use pre-configured colors, open the "Material" folder.
  2. Drag and drop your preferred color variation onto the ear or tail in the Scene.
  3. Original Colors: Duplicate (Ctrl+D) an existing material, rename it, and adjust the settings in the Inspector.


【Adjusting Physics (PhysBones)】

Select the "Ear_R_Bone," "Ear_L_Bone," or "Tail_Bone" objects and find the VRC Phys Bone component in the Inspector to adjust:

  • Sway/Movement: Under the "Forces" section.
  • Collision: Under the "Collision" section.
  • Stretch/Compression: Under the "Stretch & Squish" section.
  • Grabbing/Posing: Under the "Grab & Pose" section.


【Attaching to Different Body Parts】

Select the object named "MA_" inside the prefab. In the "MA Bone Proxy" component, you can change the "Target" bone field to attach it elsewhere.


【Uploading】

  1. Press the Play button in Unity. Use the Gizmo to verify that everything is correctly attached and moving.
  2. Upload via the VRChat SDK toolbar. (If warnings appear, clicking the "Fix" button will resolve most issues).
  3. Done! Enjoy!


★ Troubleshooting

  1. Check if Unity version matches 2022.3.22f1.
  2. If the material is pink, install lilToon.
  3. Ensure VRChat SDK and Modular Avatar are up to date.
  4. Check that your avatar's total parameter count does not exceed the limit.
