Product Description

Glowbug was designed to be the main character for a TBA VR game where they would solve puzzles in a maze.
Since then the model has had a few changes and when asked "Why not make it a VR Avatar?" I said "Why not?"

It is my own design, though there are some familiar aspects from other OC species. It is full-body compatible and is capable of sitting, standing crouching and going prone. Though the lower you go the crazier the legs may get.

Species Background:

The creature is crystalline in origin. They are a living crystal wrapped in advanced sci-fi armour to protect them from the harsh environments of their world.
Typically a space fairing species this one is from a subterranean hive when it defends it's kin from would be invaders.

The armour is designed to be modular with additional attachments that can be slotted into the back (not yet developed) to help it with it's tasks. It's foreclaws are sharp on both sides to make use of their powerful legs and if that fails standing at an average of 2 meters tall their sheer size and momentum can trample most creatures.

Their species get their name from their ability to glow. They shine with different colours and brightness depending on their role and work life. Typically worker and warrior bodies are more scuffed and scraped than others causing more of their inner light to be diffused. Their abdomen, arms and legs showing this the most. You can tell when one is conversing when its head begins to light up and pulse like it was speaking.

Customization Options:

Incudes Blend shape sliders for adjusting the eye depth and body colours and the Substance painter 21 files to repaint it.
There are a number of simple animations included and a couple of false legs for calibrating the Full-Body-Tracking on the claws.

Installation Instructions:

This avatar uses FinalIK to rig and control the walking four legs. Final IK is a paid product but is NOT required if all you want to do is upload it.
If you need to animate or test the leg movements then it will be required.

The legs Will Be Stationary in Unity without FinalIK!

They will be fine once you upload it as VRChat uses the same IK controls on their default walk animations.

There are a few steps you need to perform in order to use this product.

  1. Install VRC Fury (Required for all menus and animation set up)
  2. Install Poiyomi Toon Shader (VPM recommended)
  3. Select the accessory prefab and drag onto the avatar root*
  4. Done!

If you run into trouble check the installed Read Me file.
